Austin was ripped from all he had ever known. One minute he was among his team, the next he was gone. Needless to say, he was terrified. It only took a split second for his journey over endless miles to conclude. He took in his surrounds, panicked and frantic. It was vaguely familiar, but he wouldn't be able to put his finger on the table even in a less intense situation. Among the wasteland there was one bastion of hope, although it seemed just as vacant as the landscape surrounding it, it was still something. He approached the large building, it's sandy outer shell somewhat intimidating him as he approached. It didn't take all too long for him to find the entrance.
He had expected the place to be utterly empty, it wasn't. He wasn't sure if it was fortunate or not, the robot and man in red both had the same vaguely familiar feeling as the building, yet Austin still couldn't recall where he knew them from. He simply remained frozen on the spot, uncertain on whether to approach or to leave and look for some other shelter among the grand expanse of nothing.

It had been days since the portals had opened and nobody had arrived. Everyday Jason would go out and search the wasteland for new rangers but every search proved fruitless. He was beginning to lose hope. Again. As he sat in the Command Centre, wallowing in self pity, Alpha V was observing the viewing globe, searching for any sign of activity, anything that would help. It was at this moment a bright light started flashing on the screen. With Jason's head dropped so low he didn't see it but Alpha certainly did. "Jason! Jason!" he cried out. Jason slowly lifted his head to see Alpha's excited body language. He rose to his feet as Alpha continued to say "A portal, Jason. A portal has just activated." Invigorated by this news he quickly jogged over to the viewing globe to confirm what Alpha had just told him.
"This is incredible" Jason said, seeing the flash of blue light on the screen. Things only grew better upon seeing that the portal had been activated close to the command centre. It was time for Jason to go and recruit a new Power Ranger. Reaching down to his belt buckle he pulled up his morpher and thrust it forward. "It's morphin' time!" He cried out.
Now in his Ranger suit Jason made his way to the entrance of the Command Centre with Alpha in hand. But before they had even reached it they were greeted by the sight of a man in red. Another Red Ranger. Jason looked the man up and down, observing a large 1 on his chest and helmet. Intrigued and excited at the prospect of a new teammate Jason stepped forward and Declared "Welcome, My name is Jason. I am the Red Power Ranger, though it seems not the only one. We have a lot to discuss. Please follow me" There was so much to tell him and Jason had no clue where to start. He turned around and started walking back into the main chamber. The time it would take however short would allow him to gather his thoughts and think of a place to start with this whole mess.

At the mention of his name, everything came together. His memories became clearer, he knew exactly what this was. He had never been there before, but he had seen it and heard many stories of it. The Command Centre, home of his predecessors, the original Power Rangers. He knew Jason Lee Scott as the Red Ranger, well. The first of two. Why did he have them now? And why were they so different? From what he knew of the original red ranger, he didn't wear a cloak or look nearly as regal. Something was off, he just wasn't sure what quite yet."Why didn't he know there were more reds?" he thought. Something was very, very wrong.
He followed after the man, he was really his only option. The only way to get answers was through him. He could fight his way out if things went south, although he greatly hoped it wouldn't come to that. As they walked silently together, he began to wonder just where the other rangers were. Did they decide to just send Jason to check him out? Were they busy? Eventually he began to wonder if Jason was the only ranger here, wherever here was. After all, he didn't know of any others and Austin certainly hadn't seen anyone other than the little robot that was accompanying him. Ultimately all thinking did was make him more confused, so he decided to just wait and see what happened next.
Worry began creeping into his mind, latching on and clawing at him. "What if I can't get back?", "Will I ever see them again?", questions like this flooded his mind and suffocated him. He hoped this walk would be short, so something would come along and distract him. And maybe. Just maybe, answer those terrifying questions.

This new Red Ranger remained silent through Jason's words, it was odd and a little disconcerting, but he did follow Jason, that much was a relief to him. As they approached the main chamber, Jason turned to face the new Ranger once more. "I'm glad you followed, i understand this may be confusing for you right now" although acknowledging the man's situation he did not offer him time to respond instead choosing to jump straight into why he had been brought here. "Now i would be lying if i said i knew how the multiverse worked but i do know that the portal that brought you here is one of many." He started out honestly. Honesty was the best policy after all. "And i know it brought you here for a reason. Alpha." At this point alpha activated the viewing globe behind Jason. Sights from the Power Ranger's past began to show. The initial battle with the Rita, the arrival of Zed, the death of billy, all of it.
"At one point there were six of us, Power Rangers. We were brought together by Zordon to fight Rita Repulsa and defend the earth from her evil. Little did we know that Rita was just the start." Jason felt his helmet getting tight as the memories of his past started to come back to him. his breathing became laboured as he continued. "Rita's husband, Zed, soon followed, he was more powerful and more ruthless than Rita had ever been and we weren't ready. He was too strong and we paid the price for it." Billy's death started to play over and over in his head as the image of the fallen rangers stuck on the viewing globe. "One by one Zed's monsters defeated us, until only i remained." Jason couldn't help but feel the burden of his failures weigh heavy on him. No matter how many times he relived the story it never got any better. At this point Jason started to pace across the room, to draw his mind away from the sorrow. "As this happened Zed's empire grew and now he controls much of the planet. As a last hope Zordon used his life energy to open the portal you came through and many others like it. He had hoped to bring together rangers from different dimensions to save this planet, to stop Lord Zed. At the moment Alpha and i are the only ones standing in the way of Zed and we aren't much. We need you." Jason walked over to the other ranger and removed his helmet. He outstretched his hand for a handshake and asked one question. "Can you help me?"

Tension grew within him as he entered the chamber, he let Jason lead the conversation, waiting for a clear indication to speak. While it was overwhelming, he took it all as it came. He had heard about post-apocalyptic multiverses before. But the situation in this one seemed far, far more dire. Listening to Jason's tale and witnessing the visuals accompanying it absolutely horrified him. Something like this could only happen to him and his team in his darkest nightmares. He was forced to entertain countless terrible thoughts of what could have befallen both him and his team if they were less fortunate. He remembered the story of his timeline's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. A stark contrast to this harsh reality he found himself in. Zedd and Rita were jokes among certain circles of Rangers in his timeline. But here, here they were something far more, embodiments of a seemingly unstoppable evil.
As Jason took off his helmet, something broke within Austin. He could see his scars, the weary, barely holding on look that he wore. It was like a dark reflection, Jason could so easily had been him if the circumstances were different.
It was a lot to take in, but take it in he did. With a quick deep breath, he removed his helmet and took Jason's hand. "Yes." he answered simply. "My name is Austin, where do we start?"

A small smile curled on Jason's lips in response to this new Ranger, igniting a spark of hope within him. With this handshake the world seemed a little brighter and the fight, a little less hopeless. Now the two of them alone weren't much to be afraid of, not when Zed controlled half of the Galaxy, but two was a start and it was a damn sight better than one. Releasing Austin's hand, Jason stepped away ready to respond to Austin's question. A good question it was. Truthfully Jason had no idea where to start. Zed's empire was so expansive it seemed nigh impossible to make a dent anywhere. It would require some serious thought to find a place to start. "As much as we need to take out Zed, trying to do that now would be stupid, impossible" He started to pace back and forth "We need to start small. While we wait for more rangers we hit small targets, bases that Zed's lieutenants patrol, bases like Angel Grove" He stopped at the viewing globe looking into it towards Angel Grove.
He turned back to Austin with fire in his eyes. "Austin, we need to take Angel Grove back from Zed. But to do that we need a plan. We need research. but first i need to know what you bring to the table" Normally he wouldn't be so blunt and he would spend time getting to know his team mates but with the team so small time wasn't a luxury he had much of.

Austin watched as Jason explained, feeling an odd sense of eagreness. A smile formed slightly, there was hope. As long as they were here, there was hope. Upon hearing the slow pace they would be fighting at, attacking smaller bases and etc, Austin frowned slightly. It felt foolish to him, surely they should strike something bigger? Make some big impacts and get the ball rolling. However, he understood their meagre team couldn't exactly perform that task. He wouldn't raise any objections yet, Jason knew what he was doing.
A pang of sadness hit Austin as the viewing globe changed, it struck him straight through the heart. He knew of Angel Grove, while he had never been there, it's place in Ranger history was one of great significance. Seeing it transformed in such a terrible way, seeing what Zedd had done to it. It was sickeningly inspiring. Austin blazed with determination, inspired to fight. "I can bring plenty to the table. Obviously, I have my powers." he tapped his morpher somewhat pridefully. "I'm really good with machines. Zords and vehicles mostly. So, if you have anything like that still, I'm sure I can do something with it." he smiled once again, excitement building up within him. He had always wanted to get his hands on another ranger team's technology. "Other than that, I'm a pretty good fighter, like any ranger really." Austin looked up at Jason expectantly, hoping he didn't sound unimpressive.
