LOUIE ASHTON: THE DEVIL RANGER
PROFILE
Name: Louie Ashton
Age: 21
Birthday: Every sixth hundred and sixty sixth day is his birthday. It's a devil thing, don't ask.
Gender: Male
Species/Race: Devil
Ranger Designation: Unaligned.
Personality: Louie plays like he's a real carefree partier and merrymaker, but underneath the devil-may-care attitude(ha) lies a chessmaster who doesn't like where he is on the board. Formerly one of the leaders of his team back home, Louie is in unfamiliar territory in this new environment, and what he's been seeing so far has not exactly been filling him with confidence.
But even in this new situation, he can't help being himself. A charmer and a flirt with the ladies, and a believer in class and civility, Louie likes all things loud and flashy. Zoot suits, flashy trumpets, living in style and being the life of the party are all things that make him...him.
Likes:
The Nightlife: Partying, nightclubs, jazz concerts and dance offs, Louie really loves to burn the candle at both ends. If he'd been born here, he would love New Orleans so much.
Fire: Being a Devil, he likes things hot and burning. This is one reason why he smokes, and why he likes his beverages scalding. Remember that woman who sued for hot coffee? Louie would sue for the opposite.
Dislikes: 2 dislikes. This helps flesh out your character.
No-Smoking Signs: Kidding. (Kind of.)
Cruelty/Bullying: If there's one thing that gets under Louie's well cared for and very smooth skin, it's people showing cruelty towards someone who cannot defend themselves. Being what he is, he enjoys seeing aggression, he enjoys seeing violence, but that's between two equal parties. The sight of a tyrant lording their power over those who cannot retaliate, that's something entirely different.
Narrow Mindedness: In the universe Louie came from, 'good' and 'evil' were relative concepts, and it wasn't unusual for the two sides to come together for the good of existence as a whole. People who blindly grab for power without seeing the consequences of their action, or those who are so eager to fight evil that they're blind to other dangers, that is very frustrating for Louie. Especially if he's right about what's going to follow him...
Motivation: This is why your character gets out of bed in a morning. Why they are a Power Ranger and why they do what they do. You can have as many or as few as you like (minimum 1) just make sure they are good.
Fear: In his universe, Louie's ranger group were dealing with a very real, and very terrifying threat: A group of 'rival Rangers' called the Four Riders, though that is misleading because 'rival' implies that there's some sort of equality. In truth, The Four were and are unstoppable machines, forces older than time whose only function are to bring about Anti-Existence. As far as Louie knew, they had no flaws, no weaknesses, there was no way of stopping or even slowing them down. If they were to ever awaken, there would be nothing anyone could do.
And Louie isn't just afraid, he is terrified. Terrified that by this world triggering infinite universes, that might have been the spark needed to Awaken the Four.
Special Skills: Louie was considered the chessmaster of his group, always two steps ahead of everyone, always looking toward the horizon and trying to figure out the best way to get there. He would likely bring that skillset here, with him.
Martial Arts: Savate, Bartitsu and Fencing
APPEARANCE
Height: 6'2
Weight: 170 lbs
Hair Colour: Jet black
Eye Colour: Yellow
Special Characteristics/General Appearance: Red skin, very smooth and well cared for. Glossy, jet black horns atop his head. Very willowy, lanky build. When not in 'uniform', Louie is usually dressed to the nines.
His hair is well cared for, with a widow's peak adding a bit of character to his short and styled 'do. His eyes are yellow and glow in the dark, and usually gleam with intelligence. When he looks at you, he's going to examine all of you, to try and figure you out.
General Appearance: in no less than 100 words describe to the reader what your character looks like out of their suit.
RANGER POWERS:
(Note, picture this as slightly more armored, and of course, picture a grey metal mouthpiece instead of an exposed mouth like that.)
Ranger Team: The Paradise Rangers, dedicated to protecting not only the mortal world, but the afterlife as well.
Morpher: Pocketwatch Morpher
Transformation Phrase: "There's Hell to pay, now!"
Attributes:
Strength - 2
Speed - 7
Defense - 8
Intelligence - 6
Stamina - 4
Vitality - 3
WEAPONS AND ABILITIES:
Sidearm: A very fancy blaster.
Weapon Name: The Talleysin, literally 'The Talley-Sin'. So named because over the course of a fight, every wound it gives you is a talley mark.
Weapon Ability: Speed and range are the two major advantages of the sword itself. Also, the cane-sheathe itself can be used as a weapon, as a club or as a parrying tool. So essentially, it has a lot of versatility as a weapon. Not to mention, quite useful as a cane too. Snazzy!
Weapon Weakness: A lack of power is the major flaw here. An enemy on the receiving end of this weapon is usually defeated through numerous smaller 'stings', but it can't exactly cleave through paths of enemies.
ZORD:
Zord Name: Dracula Black
Zord Appearance: A giant jet-black vampire bat, with red highlights(and glowing red eyes).
Zord Ability: Flight at almost supersonic speeds, and can drop a napalm-like substance when flying by. Also has missiles that fire out at front, though these aren't nearly as strong as the Hellfire. It can of course combine with other Zords to make a superbot, but that's almost not worth mentioning.
HISTORY:
For Louie, growing up was Hell and he wouldn't have it any other way. Maybe the other place got all the wisemen and philosophers, but his side got all the shining crazy diamonds and the ones who knew it was better to burn out than to fade away. Of course, Heaven and Hell weren't as separated as mankind thought they were, in fact the two cooperated in a very complicated sort of social system. As Louie grew up and went from fly to spider to imp and finally to the young handsome devil he is now, he was entrusted with the responsibility of guiding the souls of Hell around, making sure each one went to the proper layer. It was while he was doing this, traveling between Hell, Limbo, the Pearly Gates and Heaven that he met a most incredible woman, Charlotte. She was an angel, literally an angel, with the wings and the halo and everything. Their jobs were similar as guides, though obviously with different destinations in mind.
It took many months to get her to agree to go out on the town with him and wouldn't you know it, just when he was about to go out on the dancefloor with her, they and three others were whisked away, teleported to Rome Italy underneath the colosseum. It was there they met 'David', a being of immense and ancient knowledge that was created when the spirits of Galileo, Nostradamus and Leonardo Da Vinci all found each other and fused into one celestial form. It was hear that the five were told of the dangers that were brewing, not just in this world but in the afterlife. Sorcerers, wizards and necromancers, creating creatures that perverted the natural order of life and death. Ancient mythological monsters who slept, and when awoken could stand tall enough to touch the sun.
And so they became Rangers. They fought together, they bled together, they were a good team. They fought renegade demons, renegade angels, they fought vampires and mummified skeletal warriors from all wars past. They protected life and what life led to, and everything was great.
Until they learned of the Four. The Four Riders, The First Rangers and They Of The Last. Eventually, they would bring about the end of existence, and there was nothing that could be done to stop them. Louie was in the process of trying to figure out a plan to prevent this, to make them keep sleeping or to eliminate them altogether, when he was brought from his world to this one, a world there Angel Grove was not just neutral ground for all Guides, but a city on earth. A world where Lord Zed ruled all, and the Red Ranger was trying to stop him. Louie isn't sure that Lord Zed should be stopped, though he personally finds the man and his ideals repugnant. Louie is seeing something else on the horizon, something worse than a petty warlord with an ego as big as his insecurities.
For Louie right now, life is Hell.
RP SAMPLE:
For the life of him, Ash couldn't figure out why he was so on edge, why he couldn't just relax and enjoy the moment for what it was. The sun was beautiful, from his vantage point on the grassy hill he was laying on, and the breeze carried the smell of something irresistable to the man's nostrils. Something like flowers, the kind of stuff Linda always wore. Linda was beautiful. Was. Had been? Was currently? Ash was past tense whenever he thought about the girl of his dreams, when he looked over to his right and saw her brilliant shining face, when he felt her fingers interlaced with his.
With his fingers. He looked down and saw their hands clasped tightly around each other, he could feel her squeezing the skin, he could feel the blood pumping through those digits. Despite himself he felt that same uneasy chill running down his spine, something inside of him acting as if he were in grave danger. Brows furrowed, he opened his mouth to say something to her, to warn her, to do anything, but he found the weight of the world on his chest making it hard to speak. Instead of words, the only thing he could do was exhale breath even as she came over, putting a single finger across his mouth.
"Shhhhhhhh."
The sound echoed through his ears, louder than a jet turbine and as strong as the ocean tide. Instantly he felt himself laying back, muscles relaxing even as he looked up at the clouds rolling across the brilliant blue sky. He felt her lips on his neck and inhaled deeply at the gentle suckling he felt. Every so often her tongue of her cute little teeth would find a sensitive spot and he'd start to giggle and move away, and this seemed to motivate her to suckle harder in a way that he loved. His eyelids fluttered every so often when a nerve was found and discovered that the weight of is burdens were still on his chest making it hard to breathe and impossible to speak. He didn't want that weight there anymore, he wanted the freedom to...to do what? To do this? What was he doing before? Why couldn't he always do this?
"The Chosen One. Ashley wake up."
Those words dug into his ears and slid into the canals in a way he couldn't ignore. Those words invaded him in a way that caused him to breathe harder, to try and get away.
